NIcki Minaj for Vogue
Nickn Minaj is featured in Vogue’s True Colors, and literally showing some colors, the music icon dons sea green/turquoise skin and her classic pink hair. Though some may be skeptical, I think this photo of Nicki is great, each color complementing the other. Inside the article, Minaj talks more about her day-to-day life and what she’d be doing if she wasn’t in the spotlight.

Anna vs. Grace
Check it. My favourite glossy mag twosome.

When grace says “go”, Anna says “no.” And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

mini-models
French Vogue features child models in a latest editorial. I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone that this has stirred the fashion pot, but you know, maybe that’s really what it’s all about. Any publicity is good publicity, right?
Looking at these photos, TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras pops into my mind, but maybe Vogue Paris is just bring some truth to the matter. Many models start their careers, or are at least scouted, as young as 12 years old. At this age girls are thrown into the industry and expected to act as adults. Which is really worse, girls playing the part of glamourized adults, or adults being pressured by society to look like these young girls? This editorial is obviously touching on the fashion world’s obsession with youth (Forever young I want to be forever young…). Although some might think this is controversial and too real, let’s just take a second and look at the ridiculous over the top styling and makeup. Maybe this is just a parody to get us talking…touché.

Glee-eek…
This month’s GQ features Rachel, Finn and Quinn from Glee. Photographed by the controversial Terry Richardson, these photos definitely have sexed up the high school musical love triangle.

I’m not quite sure how comfortable I am seeing Quinn out of her cheerleading uniform or Rachel without her weird argyle-animal-print sweaters. On the other hand, Cory Menteith (Finn) is a babe!

crush (again)
My crush is back. Remember this? Zac Efron is back, starring in Charlie St. Cloud, and I am just smitten, haha well sort of.

Read all about it in Details. Enjoy!

t-swizzle in vogue

Okay, I like Taylor Swift (yes I am 23, not 14). It started out as a guilty pleasure, sneaking her albums from my sister’s room to listen to in the car, but now I openly consider myself a fan. I’ll admit her music isn’t ground breaking, but it’s catchy. But you know what, in my opinion there a lot worse people that I could enjoy (um, Ke$ha anyone?). Coming up in May, Taylor is featured in Vogue. In a piece written by Jonathan Van Meter and photos by Annie Leibovitz, Taylor talks about her signature sparkly dresses, being a “cross-over artist”, and her upcoming album. Click here for a preview, the rest will be in the magazine when it hits news stands at the beginning of May.

my own personal mini(er) Rachel Zoe
Oh no! There may no longer be a need for killer stylist Rachel Zoe. Glamour’s newest Ask a Stylist iPhone App helps ladies shut it down EVERYDAY, not just on the red carpet. Sorry Rachel it’s time for you to move over, we’ve found a new stylist who isn’t so bananas and is less than half your size!

How does it work? Well it’s pretty simple, the App leads you step by step.
Step 1) Decide whether you want a stylist to help you decide between 2 outfits, or just give feedback on one. Step 2) Take a picture of the piece(s) of clothing. Step 3) Choose a stylist. Stylist profiles and customer reviews are provided. Step 4) Choose where you are wearing the outfit, to better help the stylist understand the context to which it should be styled. Step 5) Type and ask your question.
Now you wait! I must say, I sent in my request at 1:04 and received a message on my phone at 1:14, so I’m pretty impressed. The app seems to be very efficient and feedback can be very detail-oriented. Glamour magazine has hired 8 stylists to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This may be one of the first apps to actually talk-back to you, creating a real-time conversation. Watch this video about the Ask a Stylist app HERE.
