Eleanor Waldorf Designs/Lorick New York

Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite. Just kidding. But really, on last night’s episode of Gossip Girl, Eleanor Waldorf and her designs made an appearance long enough for Willa Holland aka Kaitlin Cooper aka Agnes Andrews to make it into another episode and for Jenny to get a job.
Here is a look at the Spring 2010 lookbook from Abigail Lorick, the lady behind Eleanor Waldorf Designs. Click here for more.

Trends from the hit TV series Roseanne

The “Boyfriend” shirt/jeans/tee/whatever. Worn here by Darlene, this look will make you seem like you just rolled out of bed and grabbed the first thing you could find: your boyfriend’s sweaty shirt from the day before. Yum.

Cher from Clueless and the Spice Girls are two other examples of 90′s pop culture icons who demonstrated the trend. Here Jackie is being over dramatic as per usual, but while wearing a snappy little button-up crop. Shown on the model to the right is the American Apparel version. For those more modest, layering is a must. The cropped top works best on those who have long torsos and a small chest.

Becky always wanted to break free of her “good girl” reputation and this rebellious haircut certainly helped. Like her Good Girl Gone Bad friend Rihanna, she opted for the buzzed undercut. Model Agyness Deyn is still rocking the short ‘d0.

If Blair Waldorf’s minions had known that she took fashion inspiration from Roseanne, would they still have been as scared of her?

FOR RENT: André Leon Talley

for the time being Anna Wintour is renting out André Leon Talley…and the first to scoop him up? Tyra Banks and the judging panel of America’s Next Top Model! T-Banks has been wanting André on the show since the early days, but he has only just agreed and has been signed on for at least 3 cycles, where he will bring a little sophistication to the show (so he claims). while Anna Wintour sends wishful words “I think his latest adventure sounds like a lot of fun and I look forward to watching him on the program” i’m pretty sure we all know that somewhere in the Vogue-empire Grace Coddington is being punished for the loss of the editor-at-large…
___
this all being said we will no longer be graced with Miss Jay Alexander’s dry wit, BUT Whitney Port will be a guest judge in the upcoming season. ANTM Cycle 14 begins March 10, cross your fingers that Tyra can make a comeback after recruiting all those short children from last cycle. pretty sure supermodel and <5’6 should never meet again, and if so Tyra will have a lot of smeyes-ing to do to keep the audience intrigued…

i love MTV, and if you love it as much as i do then you also have a small place in your heart for Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank from the AfterShow. well folks you no longer have to tune into MTV just after the 10 spot show, because these two lovelies will be hosts on CTV Olympic Morning! Olympic Morning begins at 6am until 12pm from Feb 13th to 28th… so get ready for CTV to get a little shaken up. this time around you won’t be hearing their rants & raves about LC, Lo, Kristin and Brody, but instead they will provide us with an up-to-the-minute look at everything Olympics! hopefully Dan and Jessi will bring their A-game to support Canada during the Games!
also, follow the torch HERE, and watch Dan carry the torch at around 1:05 Van time, which is 4:05 Toronto time!

What do I Love You Man, I Am Sam, Sex and the City, and Legally Blonde all have in common? All four movies use product placement: an advertising technique used by companies to subtly, or not so subtly promote their brand by casting their product in a starring film or television role.
Case and Point:
Peter Klaven storing Sydney Fife in his iPhone (or “iPhun”, as he so awkwardly puts it).
The opening scene of I Am Sam, where Sam obsessively organizes Starbucks mugs, and sugar packets by raw, white and sweetener.
Carrie Bradshaw frequently spending her paychecks on Manolo Blahniks.
….and aspiring lawyer and ditzy sorority girl Elle Woods, walking into the Apple Store in a bunny costume, determined to be taken seriously by purchasing a bright orange Mac laptop.
More recently, product placement has taken a turn in the effort of promoting music artists and bands as their own brand. If you turn on MTV or watch an episode of Gossip Girl, you are bound to hear the newest, up-and-coming pop song featured within the episodes. MTV even lists the song that is being played at the bottom of the television screen, just in case you are one of those unlucky few who don’t have an iPhone and therefore don’t have the Shazaam app!
Whether or not product placement really works is debatable among the marketing industry. But, all I can say is that after watching I Am Sam, all i wanted to do was drink a triple-grande-half-sweet-nonfat-hazelnut-latte with extra foam (yes, I used to work at Starbucks) and listen to The Beatles all day long.

TAY, this is so BANANAS, I DIE literally thinking about the HERO DRESS..TAY?

sorry Rachel, Tay-Tay is no more. it’s just you, Brad and the newest Zoe-family addition, Ashley Avignone. get ready for season 3! although i’m really not sure if Tay could ever be replaced…who will make Brad cry and who will keep everyone on track?
i’ve been quoting Rachel Zoe all week, so this post is only appropriate.

It’s gonna be legend-… wait for it… and I hope you’re not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY!

In what is sure to be a legendary guest appearance, Tim Gunn joins the cast of How I Met Your Mother tonight for the 100th episode of the show. Also guest starring is Rachel Bilson and Stacy Keibler. Make it work, people!
