Trend Spotting: Cap It Off
Have you noticed that many ladies around town have added a topper into the mix? Adding a cap to an ordinarily stylish outfit makes it a little more, je ne sais quoi — legit, on point, street? It’s the whole feminine meets masculine thing. Who didn’t steal a boys hat once in grade school, just to see what it was like to be all “sporty” and “boyish.”

Whether you’re opting to represent your home team, or choosing a simpler route (i.e. the Rag & Bone hat that has been sent out to everyone’s favourite bloggers: here & here), this trend is best worn with element of surprise. Let’s just say if one was glancing from your heels up, a nice chapeau would not be expected, but once the viewer spotted this piece they would be all “hmmm, yes.” Note: pair your cap with fashion shoulders.
Cat Eye Killers
Cat eye sunglasses are such an iconic style –think Audrey window shopping on your average Wednesday afternoon. While I’m not really one for classic feminine styling, something about this shape is fairly edgy at the moment.
With the cat eye coming in so many shapes, colours and designs, this look is very versatile. So, whether you’re a twenty-something or a lady who lunches, there is a cat eye to suit you — just remember not to overwhelm your face with too large a style. I’m personally coveting these Elizabeth & James, dare I say they’re even a little sassy (I refuse to say sexy, sorry folks)?

The Little Things: Leopard Glasses Case
Sometimes it’s the little things that brighten up your day. In this case, a $5 Aldo Shoes Leopard Glasses Case is something that while small and fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of my wardrobe, has brought ease to my life. Not to mention it’s amazing leopard print, this case has allowed me to take my Michael Kors Sloan Sunglasses with me, without having to carry around the immense hard case provided (which literally takes up half or my purse).

inspiration: lite bright
This year summer is all about the brights, neons, and glow in the dark? No not really, but I did hear about some actual glow in the dark jeans. The inspiration for this outfit came from the lovely Dolce Vita magenta loafers. You might not think they match with the outfit, but I’m pretty sure this pink on pink is stellar. Lately, I’ve been inspired from the bottom up, so here we go.

Continuing from the toes up, Elson pink denim skinny’s are organic and are on point with the colourful denim trend happening now. We will always love the low armhole tank (this season cropped & BRIGHT from Damir Doma) layered over a TopShop lacy bra. Don’t forget to top off your look with a straw fedora, the newest Mulberry Taylor Satchel, which was recently launched during Coachella, and a handful of chunky rings.
And there you have it, find me this summer cruising around the city in pink on pink.

little-lbd and a jean jacket
Here’s segment two of our first Barbie Dream House outfit photos. I found a theme within these two outfit post segments: cheap bangles and cheap sandals. SOMETIMES (rarely) we try to be frugal.

Jean Jacket: Levi’s, Dress: Wilfred (Aritzia), Sandals: Wal-Mart, Sunglasses: Kensington

I’ve started to accumulate a lot of inexpensive jewelry, mostly from F21 (above bangles) and H&M. The only issue with cheap silver jewelry is that it turns copper fast, but if you don’t want your finger to be dyed, paint clear nail polish on the inside band of the ring. These black, bandage, gladiator-inspired sandals are from Wal-Mart! Great buy, only $17, picked them up last week. Go now before they are sold out, they also come in dark tan.

fashion friday: alice edition

Like any Disney movie, Alice in Wonderland has licensed its characters to retailers to cushion their bottom line (if you want a good laugh then I suggest you take a look at what’s being offered at Hot Topic). Above are five clock necklaces inspired by the White Rabbit’s famous time piece. This post also kills two birds with one stone because I would have to say that my “signature” piece of jewelry is a $6.80 clock necklace from Forever 21 from three years ago. I have no idea what I would do if I lost it, and now that I have expressed that in writing, I will probably lose it tomorrow.
