Little Green Silk Dress

As an ex-Aritzia employee, I have owned this Wilfred dress since as long as I can remember. It’s become a staple in my wardrobe more so than any little black dress I own. The easy shape is versatile, dress it up or down, it will be happy either way. Paired with my latest addition to my, ahem, shoe collection, this silk dress is perfect for summer, and just enough for my business casual 9-to-5. I just can’t get enough of these Kelsi Dagger sandals. After majorly eyeing over the winter months at Heel Boy, I finally bit the bullet and wished for sunshine. Last week alone I wore them three times, talk about return on investment.

Light Knits & Springtime Sunshine
Until prepping this post, I didn’t realize the majority of my outfit is Free People. There was something about this sweater that instantly drew my attention. It could be its oversized shape, or the fact that it’s my favourite colour, grey, or that L.A. was freezing and it seemed appropriate (disclaimer – unless layered, this sweater is in fact breezy). I can already predict this will be my sweater of choice all summer long.

Polka Dot Crop
Sometimes twelve dollar pants are the ones that get you all the compliments. With a bold black and white print these H&M cropped pants are the perfect head turner and eye roller — at least I’m grabbing their attention, right? Every day it’s getting warmer and our layers are becoming less heavy. Blue skies ahead, please!

Neon Pop
Often I say I feel like my outfit makes me feel like a boy. This is a prime example. Typically these boyish feelings are encouraged by very simple outfits, and this is too simple, it felt weird taking only two minutes to get dressed in the morning.

Spring is upon us, with 16+ daily highs, I certainly have no problem with trading in my wool coats for leather and canvas jackets. My goal this spring/summer season is to incorporate more brights into my closet, and ask myself ”do your 18 other grey shirts need another sibling?” This isn’t 19 Kids and Counting.

Manicure Monday: Black & Blue
On Friday I quickly painted my nails with the original plan being to paint black tips, but after a major french tip fail, I decided to quickly fix them up by painting almost half black and the other half blue. Although I’m finding the colours a little childish for my liking, I have received many compliments on my nails, and find the design slightly mod. Next time I’m taking a cue from the cashier at Aritzia and will paint the bottom quarter a gold and the rest a jewel green.

Waffles & Silk
Waffle sweaters are so comforting, maybe it’s my love of eating waffle that makes wearing this fabric so much better. Last week I posted this Old Navy waffle sweater, and soon after purchased it online for only $15. A price like that I had to buy two colours of course! I’ve never been a huge fan of Old Navy, the commercials are you like you’re annoying kid sister, but this waffled piece could not be left behind. I was even more pleased when my purchase arrived one day later. Because this waffle knit is cotton and slightly cropped, it’s very lightweight and it perfect for layering in almost any season.

Did I mention it was eight degrees today? Despite the snow, there was actually no need for a coat when the sun was shining.

sh-sh-shorty
Hey shorty, do a little dance.
Just posted this on NOTED BY GFB, but because we LOVE Aritzia, I had to post it again here. It’s cute. Who knew jean shorties were so talented!
