VOTE or die

Just a friendly reminder to our fellow Canadian readers & bloggers to go out and vote today. Let your voice be heard, and if you have never voted, it’s never too late to start! I’m sure over the past few weeks I’ve been a little obnoxious encouraging my friends to vote, but hey, I’m from Ottawa (you know, the nation’s capital) so it’s pretty much in my blood. I was born to vote, haha ok, cheesy, bye now!
VOTE & see you at the polls!

music monday: Rolling In The Deep (Villa remix)
This was posted on NOTED by GFB last week, but we can’t stop listening to it. AMAZING. Also how amazing is this Rolling Stone cover, I think the tousled hair makes it, since we’re used to her perfect updos…what a babe!

Today is a pretty busy Monday for us Canadians (yes….VOTE or die), so maybe this song will help you get through the day. Don’t forget to go to the polls, cause all the cool kids are doing it (i.e. US and everyone else who is cool).

Osheaga Babes
Oh Canada, you sure do produce some beauties! While wandering the GQ website, I found out just how much GQ boys appreciate us Canadian girls. In this feature, Gordon von Steiner photographs “carefree beauties from the north” during Montreal’s Osheaga Music Festival.

Yup, we still got it!

S(t)AM I AM
I know I know, another model/celebrity fashion collaboration. This is one is different though I promise, because Canadian beauty Jessica Stam co-designs with Rachel Roy. Stam has designed 5 unique pieces for RACHEL Rachel Roy ($49-$199), and each of them, as persisted by Roy, are looks that Jessica can see her friends wearing. This Great White North Supermodel, and one of my faves along side Daria, describes the looks as nautical meets military. This seems to be the trend in the coming season, but if you only want to invest in a few essential pieces, go for these designs. Sometimes less IS more!

The collection is available at Macy’s at the end of this month (now).

oh canada, oh yes!

we LOVE Tar-Jay! but really who doesn’t..? there is just something about the red “target circles”, cheap designer looks and lovely americaness that gets us every time. since there is currently no Target in Canada, we only wish they would at least consider shipping to our homeland. when we heard on friday that Target may be extending its love north we were very pleased…mind you they project this international expansion in approximately 3 years, so don’t get too excited! we will still be road-tripping in April for the Zac Posen collection.
the real question here: is this really what us, as Canadians, want? will the move to Canada cause all the Target appeal to fade? do you remember how excited you were when Old Navy came to Canada in 2001? i do, and now you cannot pay me to step into that store. the same goes for Zara and H&M, don’t get me wrong i still shop at these 2 retailers, but the quality and appeal are slowly dwindling.
i guess i won’t get too worked up about this one, since a lot can happen in 3 years!
