Polish Party
Do polish parties exist? What a better way to spend an afternoon/evening than painting nails with friends and enjoying tea, or a few libations (mimosas anyone?) and treats. Each guest would bring two colours from their own lacquer collection and let the swapping begin. Of course the only thing to make this get together even better is to have mini cupcakes to match each polish colour. Check out the cute cupcakes at the Chanel nail polish workshop.

Lagerfeld Confidential
It’s to my delight that today when weaving through my Google Reader I found THIS Vice interview with Karl Lagerfeld. I’m sure I’ve already mentioned how much I adore Lagerfeld, and I actually think my first post ever featured a picture of him, but it seemed rather coincidental that this interview was released when just last night I was watching Lagerfeld Confidential (for about the 20th time) before going to bed.

This man never ceases to amaze me, from his gorgeous designs and amazingly innovative and whimsical shows, to the fact that he actually has been doing all the photography for Chanel since 1987. And here once again this self-portrait, which has been paired with the interview embodies his brilliance.

There is just something about the combination of his down-to-earth sophistication, bluntness and humour that gets me every time and keeps me inspired.

“I accepted the idea of celebrity because of a French expression: ‘You cannot have the butter and the money for the butter.’” -Lagerfeld

all i wanna do is take your money!
as if i wasn’t having enough trouble saving my pennies for the classic Chanel quilted purse…word on Madison Avenue is that on february 1st, these lovelies will cost $50-$100 more! so girls, it’s time to rally and get yourself to the nearest Chanel boutique, but really if you’re already paying $2500 what’s an extra 50 or 100? and in case you wanted the classic jumbo size, this will put you out an extra $350, as the price will raise from $2650 to $2995.

sketchy.

I’ve always been pretty amazed with fashion designer’s sketches. Most likely it’s because I can barely draw, and if I do attempt, it will most likely resemble the skill of a 3rd grader…I’ll stick to finger painting, and collages (especially Polyvore collages). It’s also pretty amazing that Karl does all his sketches with marker, sans-whiteout. Just watch Lagerfeld Confidential and anything you ever wondered about Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel will be answered.

fashionable apps
I am a Mac (so is Maddy), and we covet all things Apple related. Our iPhones have become an extension of our bodies and our MacBooks never go a day without use. One of the coolest things about Apple’s products is the ease at which they can be customized. The iPhone is not an exclusive device, but the applications of the iPhone are individual to each owner. There really is an app for everything, and companies are trying their best to cash in on the iPhone craze.
Net-a-Porter.com
Net-a-Porter.com, the popular e-commerce website, has an app that allows users to view new products, or categories of products, put items in shopping bags or on wish-lists, and even buy products straight from their phone. For those that can afford a pair of $495 Chloe flats, and have the balls to purchase them from a mobile device, this app is for you!

Zara
The Zara app, much like their website, does not allow users to make purchases. Included are new arrivals for women, men, and kids. Products are updated weekly and the the app features photos from the current seasons lookbook.

Chanel
The Chanel app features the latest news, looks, and accessories. It even has a store locator, just in case you need to find a retail location ASAP. The icon on the desktop appears as the famous Chanel double C’s, which is enough to make any label-hungry iPhone user a fan.

Happy downloading!

Chanel + Under Armour
here we have Audrina Patridge, star of mtv’s The Hills leaving the gym wearing Under Armour spandex and…is that? no, it can’t be. it’s Chanel’s classic lambskin 2.55 bag. the juxtaposition of the luxury item against the work-out attire is clever. however, something tells me Audrina didn’t see this as anything more than a photo-op.
