Glee-eek…

with 2 comments

This month’s GQ features Rachel, Finn and Quinn from Glee.  Photographed by the controversial Terry Richardson, these photos definitely have sexed up the high school musical love triangle.

I’m not quite sure how comfortable I am seeing Quinn out of her cheerleading uniform or Rachel without her weird argyle-animal-print sweaters.  On the other hand, Cory Menteith (Finn) is a babe!

Osheaga Babes

Oh Canada, you sure do produce some beauties!  While wandering the GQ website, I found out just how much GQ boys appreciate us Canadian girls.  In this feature, Gordon von Steiner photographs “carefree beauties from the north” during Montreal’s Osheaga Music Festival.

Yup, we still got it!

slappin’ the bass in some snazzy suits

leave a comment »

GQ’s Rock the Suit 2010 photoshoot features the trendiest suit styles on some of the most musically inclined boys right now, including MGMT, The National, The Walkmen and The Drums.  Whether you’re slappin’ the bass with friends or attending a formal event, GQ says these looks “will look killer on you, too-even without a guitar slung over your shoulder.”

…and I definitely agree with that!

Well boys, you asked for it, so here it is.  These looks are GQ’s “best new looks for the season” but the following four are our personal faves.

1) The Denim Shirt- Versatile, comfortable, casual, but iconic.  You can dress it up, paired with a fitted sport jacket, or down with jeans.  Just remember to mix up the wash if you are wearing jean-on-jean!

2) Fitted Blazers & Neutral Outerwear- This season it’s all about the fitted blazer.  Perfect to dress up a casual outfit and acts as a light-weight jacket for a night out.  On those chillier rainy summer nights opt for a neutral water resistant, but always tailored, jacket.

3) Upturned Cuffs- So you may not be convinced on this, but pair your lightly rolled up cuffed jeans with some boat shoes and you are set for a stroll through the park or a visit to the island.  This is the perfect outfit-tweak for the transition into summer.

4) The Light-Weight Plaid Shirt- This winter it was all about the plaid flannel, and as I’ve told many, in my opinion you can never have too much plaid.  For the warmer months try on a light-weight cotton plaid bottom-up.  This plaid is a little more sophisticated and a little less hipster.

love & basketball

with 5 comments

lately, we love ourselves some basketball!

we just might be the Toronto Raptors‘ biggest fans, and for a good reason too, check out their standings: 2nd in the Atlantic division and 5th in the Eastern conference! our fave Raptors boys are Chris Bosh (CB-4), Sonny Weems, and Andrea Bargnani.  March 5th, it will be just M&K and the Raptors, as they play the New York Knicks.  we’ll be cheering on the boys, in hopes of winning another home game!

in other basketball news, Kobe Bryant is gracing the cover of GQ, looking pretty snazzy.

tall girls need tall boys, so this love affair may not end anytime soon…

p.s. do you remember Love and Basketball the movie? we used to watch it every weekend in grade 8…SO GOOD!

blind conversation…

with 5 comments

i guess you could say this is the age of blind conversation…most of us talk via texting, facebook, and my new fave ichat.  but here is something new.  while looking over the GQ website trying to find something to write about I found this… Omegle.  essentially its a chat room where you talk to a stranger.  no username, email, picture needed you are totally anonymous.  so I went in search of random information.  some people did not really like my approach and were on the site for different reasons.  many asked “asl?” (age, sex, location), but instead I asked people to tell me something interesting.  i’m still debating whether this is interesting or creepy… but for your own comfort you can disconnect the conversation at any time.

here are some entertaining findings:

Stranger: No joke
Stranger: I’m from london
You: what!?
You: are you a hero?
Stranger: Lol no, just an ordinary guy
Stranger: Well teenager
You: p.s. that was a good answer
Stranger: I’m 17! I feel proud!
You: good for you!
