Sequin High.

Posted in Fashion by goldfacedbetty on December 7, 2010

Well, it’s December.  The holiday season is upon us, I’ve already attended my work party, I don’t know about you.  It’s time to be merry, drink a little too much eggnog (and rum), and dance the night away.  The best way to keep the spirit going is with the help of the LSD. Little sequin dress, that is, duh.

Sequins always seem to make their way back in style, especially during the holidays.  All I can say is if you’re wearing one of these sequined beauties, you’re sure to be the one stealing those hunks from under the mistletoe.  Also, the perfect New Years dress, champagne and sequins were just meant for each other.

bringing it back old school…

has anyone else noticed Gap’s new holiday commercial?  i have, and i can’t help to think how glee-inspired it is.  although it still doesn’t really compare to the original Gap commercials, circa early 2000s, i have to say solid effort!  i guess since the recession has officially been declared complete, companies are getting back into the retailing game.  it’s no surprise that gap is leading this venture and getting the ball rolling just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Tis the Season! (for conscious spending)

Posted in News, Retail by goldfacedbetty on December 17, 2008

In case the calendar did not inform you, the festive window displays  must have. Indeed the holiday season has arrived once again. This year, however, it may feel a little different at the local mall. Consumer confidence is at an all-time low, and conspicuous consumption has become a shopping faux pas.
What does this mean for retailers? Decreased luxury sales, shifts to lower priced stores, excess inventories, store closures, halted expansions.
What does this mean for shoppers? Big sales!! …but not if you shop at Abercrombie and Fitch).
