Gifts for Mama
This week flew by and May 13th, i.e. Day of Mamas, is quickly approaching. While Mother’s Day for me is quite different since I no longer live in the same city as my parents, it’s still nice to make little gestures. I’m sure for my mom, Sunday will mostly be like any other, which is why I think it’s important to make the most of the time I do spend with my mom. Last weekend I was in Ottawa, so me and my mom spent the day brunching, shopping and visiting new baby cousins. Before returning to Toronto, we also strolled our neighbourhood, indulging in tacos from a new Mexican pop-up hut (literally) and homemade donuts. We also took in some vitamin D while lounging in the backyard.
Even if you won’t be with your mom this Sunday, sometimes a lengthy phone call is the best alternative. For those of you who are speding the day with mom, here are some last minute gift ideas.

((a few years ago I visited Ottawa and made my mom brunch – try this eggs benny recipe – don’t forget mimosas!))

((summer is upon us and these are great for backyard parties, lemonade, iced tea & sangria, oh my – West Elm))

((treat mom to an at-home mani-pedi – think amateur massage & bright spring polishes – photo via))

((while fresh cut flowers are nice, this potted hydrandea last so much longer – Terrain))
