slappin’ the bass in some snazzy suits
GQ’s Rock the Suit 2010 photoshoot features the trendiest suit styles on some of the most musically inclined boys right now, including MGMT, The National, The Walkmen and The Drums. Whether you’re slappin’ the bass with friends or attending a formal event, GQ says these looks “will look killer on you, too-even without a guitar slung over your shoulder.”
…and I definitely agree with that!
Music Monday: MGMT
MGMT‘s second album Congratulations was released April 9th. With “Flash Delirium” having been released for download in March, opinions and expectations about the rest of the album have been swirling around for quite sometime. After the huge success of their first, more pop and dance influenced album Oracular Spectacular, I’m pretty sure MGMT did not expect the wave of negative feedback and doubtful opinions of the newest creation. So “Flash Delirium” wasn’t the biggest hit, and even though this album is much more toned down and psychedelic, it definitely has a couple songs you can do with, and some you can do without.

“It’s Working” is a little more retro with a surf-rock influence. Starts the album off with the most energy, then slowly dying down, setting the stage for MGMT’s new ‘electric feel’.
“Congratulations” in my opinion, ends the album off on a high note. Much more mellow than what you might expect from MGMT, but still the same recognizable sound. Maybe my fave.

almost time for that ELECTRIC FEEL
remember that summer in 2008, when all you did was dance around in giant hippie muumuus and run through the open fields of music festivals? yep…here is my point: MGMT is epic. that summer may have been the best summer everrr. and this summer may follow suit, because MGMT is releasing their newest album, Congratulations, in April!!

NYE 2010
New Years Eve is fast approaching and if you haven’t got plans you better get moving! We’re hoping our New Years looks like this Kid Cudi ft. MGMT and Ratatat video. Our only wish is that we look half this good in slow motion.
