Manicure Monday: Essie Neon
Essie’s Neon collection is made up of a few different pink/orange shades, that are perfect for summer. The brand supplies a white polish in the line to act as a base and to help each colour pop. Because the lacquers are very translucent, each colour appears differently when used with the white and on its own. I used the White base with Action and Bazooka, to create a striped look that I now realized, because of the orange tendencies, quite resembles candy corn.

To create the lines I used a Kiss Nail Art Paint, that provides a thin brush. If you have a shaky hand (like me) I might recommend trying out nail tape, that is thin and rolls on easily.

Often I say I feel like my outfit makes me feel like a boy. This is a prime example. Typically these boyish feelings are encouraged by very simple outfits, and this is too simple, it felt weird taking only two minutes to get dressed in the morning.

Spring is upon us, with 16+ daily highs, I certainly have no problem with trading in my wool coats for leather and canvas jackets. My goal this spring/summer season is to incorporate more brights into my closet, and ask myself ”do your 18 other grey shirts need another sibling?” This isn’t 19 Kids and Counting.

Ms. Green Jeans
I can always remember when I was younger visiting the Toronto Eaton Centre — the almighty of malls, being from Ottawa — and my sister and I begging my parents to bring us to Mr. Green Jeans for lunch. I don’t even remember if the food was good, but in my twisted child mind I think I believed that my mom used to serve there when she first studied fashion at George Brown (then located in Kensington and now the Kensington Market Lofts). Of course, she didn’t actually waitress there, but that’s all besides the point now.
Coloured denim, where do I begin. Last spring/summer/fall it was all a see of red, but now the denim has run free from it’s ruby roots and is turning to a more diverse palette. These Rag & Bone denim skinnies combine but two loves, colour and zippers. Moving into the warmer months of spring I’ll be opting for a more colourful wardrobe, leaving my shades of grey behind, for the most part. Let’s style this deep green jeans two ways and prep for the better months of the year. And don’t forget, this spring no outfit is complete without neon, duh!

This year summer is all about the brights, neons, and glow in the dark? No not really, but I did hear about some actual glow in the dark jeans. The inspiration for this outfit came from the lovely Dolce Vita magenta loafers. You might not think they match with the outfit, but I’m pretty sure this pink on pink is stellar. Lately, I’ve been inspired from the bottom up, so here we go.

Continuing from the toes up, Elson pink denim skinny’s are organic and are on point with the colourful denim trend happening now. We will always love the low armhole tank (this season cropped & BRIGHT from Damir Doma) layered over a TopShop lacy bra. Don’t forget to top off your look with a straw fedora, the newest Mulberry Taylor Satchel, which was recently launched during Coachella, and a handful of chunky rings.
And there you have it, find me this summer cruising around the city in pink on pink.
