Often I say I feel like my outfit makes me feel like a boy. This is a prime example. Typically these boyish feelings are encouraged by very simple outfits, and this is too simple, it felt weird taking only two minutes to get dressed in the morning.

Sunglasses – Michael Kors, Jacket – TNA, Sweater – Gap, Scarf – Aritzia, Jeans – Zara, Booties – H&M, Purse – H&M

Spring is upon us, with 16+ daily highs, I certainly have no problem with trading in my wool coats for leather and canvas jackets. My goal this spring/summer season is to incorporate more brights into my closet, and ask myself  ”do your 18 other grey shirts need another sibling?” This isn’t 19 Kids and Counting.

TNA Spring 2010 Lookbook

Posted in Fashion, Retail by goldfacedbetty on February 16, 2010

Unlike the fall lookbook that was shot in Trinity Bellwoods, it looks like TNA has opted for a studio and something other than a Nikon Coolpix digicam. There’s something that is a little too “American Apparel” about some of these shots, but I think I get it. In any case, it looks like my cropped top from the fall collection will take me into spring, better start working on my fitness.

See the rest of the Spring ’10 lookbook here.

with 2 days left, i thought i’d share with all of you my fave places in Whistler!  having lived in Whistler on-and-off for about 2 years, i’m really wishing i was there right now, although not working cause that would be hectic.  if you are in Whistler for the Olympics or ever visit these places:

1) Elements – the best for breakfast (eggs benedict) and tapas

2) Citta – right in the Village Square an almost daily hangout for pitchers of beer and burgers

3) 7th Heaven – found on Blackcomb Mountain, the best place to ski/snowboard on pow days!

4) Sushi Village – order the spicy agedashi tofu and sake margaritas to start of the meal

5) TNA - stop by and say hi to all the girls AND Artitzia is also an official Olympic Licensee (check out the ParkLife line)

ok enjoy!  and just know that this is my favourite place in the world (the winters are a dream, but the summers are epic!)

gillian for tna x endeavor

Aritzia and Endeavor Snowboards have teamed up to collaborate on a limited edition snowboard, and guess who their unofficial spokes-girl is? The one and only, Maddy’s Whistler BFF and pro snowboarder-extraordinaire, Gillian Andrewshenko!  The board, which is a part of the Boyfriend Series, is available in select TNA and Aritzia stores throughout the country. Word on the street is it’s retailing for around $450, somewhat more pricey than the average snowboard, but you can’t beat a collaboration like this one.

Come visit soon, Gillian!

I revisited the Aritzia lookbook this evening to figure out how I would be spending the gift cards I received for Christmas. Here are some of my favourite looks from the fall/winter collection.

All pieces are by Wilfred, Talula, TNA and Talula Babaton and are available exclusively at Aritzia.

floral shirtdress and cashmere socks: WILFRED

lace dress: TALULA

crepe de chine shirt dress: TALULA BABATON

denim jacket, flannel plaid shirt, mohair sweater, canvas backpack: TNA

striped tank, oversized mens shirt, boyfriend hoody, floral print leggings: TALULA

This last look is on behalf of Maddy because I know how much she likes those floral print leggings!

I promise in the new year to keep the Aritzia preaching to a minimum.

new trend alert…

sooo apparently lindsay lohan has taken a liking to possibly a new trend.. ugh. last summer i worked at tna/aritzia, and one day a delivery of cropped tops came in, but i have to tell you these were not the trendsetting item the company wished them to be. i’m pretty sure they ended up on sale for $10 or less…

anyways, do you see any similarities here?! i suppose the first try was a little more successful than white the pajama ensemble… better luck next time lindsay.

internet retailing

Posted in Retail by goldfacedbetty on January 23, 2009
There is nothing worse than visiting your favorite retailer online only to find that their website is completely bogus. Aritzia and TNA do not offer online shopping but great lengths have gone into developing a website that does a fantastic job of re-creating the feeling you get when you are in one of their stores. On top of that they both have blogs that are updated regularly and make it easy for customers to interact with the store online.

And look at how evolved the Forever 21 website has become over the years. Not only do they offer online shopping, they offer it to Canadian residents as well! On top of that, they have hired a “stylist” to put together outfits.
It’s this kind of retailing that gets me excited!
