Styled: Pastel Blue
Hopping on the coloured denim wagon, I recently added a pair of Zara pastel turquoise jeans to my wardrobe. I wish I had scooped up another pair, or two, because they are definitely a piece that is soon to be deemed a spring/summer go-to. Adding to my pastel blue collection I also picked up a perfect sleeveless blouse from H&M (which unfortunately is not online), this time I chose blue and black, to keep myself well-stocked.
Something about pastels is so easy, especially blue — pairing it with denim is just too simple. With many shades available in pastel hues, I’m loving the brighter Madewell lace bra below. China Glaze in Audrey fits perfectly with this colour wheel, and another great option is Zoya in Bevin, which has painted my tips all week long.

Neon Pop
Often I say I feel like my outfit makes me feel like a boy. This is a prime example. Typically these boyish feelings are encouraged by very simple outfits, and this is too simple, it felt weird taking only two minutes to get dressed in the morning.

Spring is upon us, with 16+ daily highs, I certainly have no problem with trading in my wool coats for leather and canvas jackets. My goal this spring/summer season is to incorporate more brights into my closet, and ask myself ”do your 18 other grey shirts need another sibling?” This isn’t 19 Kids and Counting.

short skirt and a jean jacket
Yesterday Kayla and I went to get the keys to our new condo! We ended up showing up pretty much wearing the same thing. I’m hoping once we live with each other this will stop. It seems lately our outfits consist of skirts/dresses and jean jackets. We were so excited to get our keys, and we also found out that our condo has great lighting (can you say outfit posts)! So here is segment one of our first outfit post in the Barbie Dream Home.

Jean Jacket: Zara, Top: Urban Behaviour, Skirt: Wilfred (Aritzia), Sunglasses: RayBan, Bracelets: H&M

queen shopping day

Yesterday’s mission was to find some appropriate office-attire in the form of cropped beige pants and tops. I did find some pants at Zara, but because of their questionable customer service I have to go back when they remove my size off the mannequin. This happens on a Wednesday apparently.
The highlights of the day were visiting Aritzia, and seeing Matt Babel, who has been my long-time crush.
What I Wore – Wool Hat: Jacob, Jacket: Mackage, Shirt: Zara, Jeans: J-Brand, Purse: H&M, Boots: Vintage from my Mom

Traffic, Branding, Zara, Armani, Superfreakonomics, Blink, The Tipping Point, Outliers
Guess what! February is “I love to Read Month“. As a child, your class may have kept track of all the books you read, and then if you reached a certain amount there would be a pizza party at the end of the month to celebrate your literacy successes. If only this applied in university.
Recently I have gotten into books related to my education. No fiction for this girl. Currently, I have three books on the go:

Fashion Brands: Branding Style from Armani to Zara by Mark Tungate
Superfreakonomics by Steven D. Levitt
Traffic: Why we drive the way we do by Tom Vanderbilt (Admittedly this one is not related in any way to my current education, but traffic is interesting).
Other gems I suggest you pick up:

The Tipping Point/Outliers/Blink by Malcolm Gladwell

Why we Buy: The Science of Shopping/The Call of the Mall by Paco Underhill – after reading these you will never think the same way about shopping or shopping malls again.
If you’ve got any recommendations I’m all ears, I love a good read.

fashionable apps
I am a Mac (so is Maddy), and we covet all things Apple related. Our iPhones have become an extension of our bodies and our MacBooks never go a day without use. One of the coolest things about Apple’s products is the ease at which they can be customized. The iPhone is not an exclusive device, but the applications of the iPhone are individual to each owner. There really is an app for everything, and companies are trying their best to cash in on the iPhone craze.
Net-a-Porter.com
Net-a-Porter.com, the popular e-commerce website, has an app that allows users to view new products, or categories of products, put items in shopping bags or on wish-lists, and even buy products straight from their phone. For those that can afford a pair of $495 Chloe flats, and have the balls to purchase them from a mobile device, this app is for you!

Zara
The Zara app, much like their website, does not allow users to make purchases. Included are new arrivals for women, men, and kids. Products are updated weekly and the the app features photos from the current seasons lookbook.

Chanel
The Chanel app features the latest news, looks, and accessories. It even has a store locator, just in case you need to find a retail location ASAP. The icon on the desktop appears as the famous Chanel double C’s, which is enough to make any label-hungry iPhone user a fan.

Happy downloading!
